Lower canthoplasty is to lower the outer corner of the eye for those who have slanted eyes. Incision is done at the eye end with 30~45 degrees downwards, move the ligaments down and get it fixed at periosteum, which is basically

• Those who have slanted eyes
• Those who cannot improve their eye ends by lateral epicanthoplasty due to insufficient space between orbital bone and eye ends.
• Those who didn't improve by normal lateral epicanthoplasty or in case of recurrence

• Design an incision of 3~5mm at the lateral canthal 30~45 degrees downwards
• Local Anesthesia is done after light sedation
• Incised skin and lateral ligaments are fixed in periost
• Stitch up

• Short operation time, no swllings so patients can return to their normal social lives right away
• Low possibility of recurrence or be slanted again since the eye ends are fixed to the periost
• The slanted eye ends get lower and give much smoother impression
• By moving the eye ends outer and downwards, the white part of the eyes are exposed more and gives a well defined eye shape
• Incision is done near conjunctiva, so there is no need to worry about scars
